Yeah sorry about the slowness. It's mostly my fault, as I haven't really done much to promote the site. Recently spam bots have figured out how to bypass the verification system and were creating dozens of new accounts each day, posting spammy messages, so I've quit accepting new users until a new version of the forum software comes out. Actually, new users can still register, I just get an email to verify them before they can post. But still, I get dozens of emails each day to verify new spammy accounts, so I don't always read them all.
Also with so many other card forums, I guess there's not much need for this one, but regardless, it will still be here if anybody ever wants to use it!
Retro Cards,
No need to apologize for the slowness, I still come here every day or two to check and see if anything is going on. I keep hoping more Heritage collector's will find it, but it just doesn't seem to happen. Hopefully someday more people will find their way here.
As for the spam bots, I noticed them too. I've been deleting tons of them over the past few weeks. I noticed that they quit posting, and was wondering why. I meant to PM you about it, but I wasn't sure if you were still around or not. I've been very carefully deleting them, to make sure I don't delete a legitimate id. Most are real obvious, but a couple are not. I was doing a bit of reading on some other forums looking for a way to deal with it, and it appears that many other sites are having the same issue. The best solution I read was to block all emails that end in @gmail.com, and the other ones they use. However, I didn't want to set it up that way for fear of excluding someone legitimate who has that type of email account. I'm sure there will be someone who will find a way to solve it sooner or later. When I have some time, I'll do some research again, and try to fix it as well.
Anyway, good to see you post again Retro. Talk to you soon.
Tom
